The Timber Evo 12.5 was developed for the professional that prefers a more robust rope, without adding a lot of weight. This double braided rope has a robust 24 strand polyester sheath with excellent abrasion resistance. The high strength nylon core has just 3% stretch, enabling you to limit wasted energy, but still maintaining a good level of safety. The sheath is woven to make ascending with any method smooth and easy. You’ll also appreciate that the sheath has virtually no slippage in real world use. This rope was designed mainly as a climbing rope, but does well as a rigging line, providing just enough stretch to absorb some shock and keep things safe.
While this rope may be thicker than the other Timber Evo ropes, it’s not going to weigh you down. It weighs 104 g/m, which means a 50m rope comes in just under 11.5 lbs. Developed with the help of the Arbor and Forestry department at Mendel University (Brno, Czech Rep.) you can be sure that Tendon Timber Evo ropes will perform at the highest level.
Tendon Timber Evo ropes are available in 11mm, 11.5mm and 12.5mm, guaranteeing that you can get the right rope for the right job.

I'm so glad that I found Tendon ropes again. I used them for years in the UK and I just found them again on this website . I moved to Oregon in 2019. I used to use only the Tendon 11.5 but for the last year in the US I prefer something fatter so I just got the 12.5. The Timber Evo 12.5 is just as good as the 11.5, but in a fatter rope. Which is awesome because the sheath should be thicker and last even longer. I like climbing the old ways so I use hitches. The Tendon 10mm prusik is great with the 12.5 rope. Just the right amount of grip on the rope. Holds steady when I need it and easy to release and slide up when I need to.
I wanted to get a thicker rope because my zigzag slips on the Blue Moon 11.7 that I use a lot so I figured I would try out Tendon Timber Evo 12.5 to see if it works better. I was a little nervous because I have never used Tendon ropes before and none of the guys that I work with have used them. Glad they were on sale or I'm not sure I woud have tried it. I would buy at regular price now too, its that good. This rope is sick. The color is bright and the sheath is perfect with my zigzag. Nice and smooth, but no slipping! I saw they sell short ropes too so I think I might buy 15' for my new lanyard. It looks like it's going to hold up real good and last a long time.
I wasn't sure when I bought the Tendon Timber 12.5, but I figured it was cheap so it was worth trying out. Long story short, I'm not buying any other rope from now on. The Tendon rope is as high quality, maybe higher quality than Yale Blue Moon or Sterling, and about 1/2 the price. So far it has been super durable and the handling is better than most other ropes. Sap still gets all over when doing pines though. I don't know why they're selling everything wholesale, but I don't really care care. Quality 24 strand climbing rope! Bonus, they put a free 10mm prusik in my box. It's even better than the rope.
